Port Everglades and Tampa Bay are the two of the six homeports of Florida that shut down last week before the arrival of Hurricane Irma.
Both the get reopened on Tuesday. After the opening, the port has allowed the arrival of some cruise ships to return, those fled in the storm.
The Coast Guard of U.S. is in the surveying process of all the ports’ destruction by air, sea and land. Assessments of Port Canaveral (Orlando) are still underway, and another which will be assessed soon includes the Port of Palm Beach, Miami and JaxPort (Jacksonville). According to the authorities of ‘Port of Palm Beach’ it is expected that the port will reopen on Wednesday that is September 13, after receiving the approval from the U.S. Coast Guards. Port Canaveral and Jacksonville have opened the port, but it will still remain closed to marine traffic as of now and will open for that, once they get the green signal. (more…)
